Accounts Assistant
Full-time | Permanent | £28,000–£30,000
Working hours:

Monday–Thursday: 7am–4pm

Friday: 7am–3pm (early finish Fridays)
Working pattern:

Office-based during probation, then 1 day working from home per week
About the role
We’re looking for a detail-focused and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. You’ll support day-to-day finance operations across sales and purchase ledger, banking and month-end, playing a key part in keeping everything running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, ideal if you enjoy working with numbers, resolving queries and building strong working relationships across the business.
What you’ll be doing
*Raising customer invoices, issuing statements and supporting credit control
*Processing supplier invoices and expenses, and assisting with payment runs
*Reconciling bank statements and allocating incoming payments
*Supporting cash forecasting and general banking activities
*Handling customer and supplier queries in a professional and approachable way
*Assisting with month-end tasks, including accruals, prepayments and VAT returns
*Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
*Supporting audits and contributing ideas to improve finance processes
What we’re looking for
*Previous experience in an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role
*Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
*Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
*Confident communicator who can liaise with colleagues, customers and suppliers
*Comfortable using accounting software (Sage 50 preferred) and Excel
*A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
