Teaching Assistant – ASD Specialist Provision (Primary) – Outskirts of Winchester
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary setting near Winchester, supporting pupils within an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) provision. This role is well suited to individuals with experience in special educational needs, as well as those from care, support work, healthcare or childcare backgrounds looking to transition into education.
About the Setting
The school is a specialist primary provision supporting pupils with complex needs, with a particular focus on autism. The environment is structured, nurturing and designed to support communication, sensory regulation and individualised learning. A highly personalised curriculum promotes academic development, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
Staff work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, high-quality support tailored to each pupil’s needs.
Role Overview
You will support pupils with ASD on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills and build independence. Pupils may present with sensory sensitivities, communication difficulties and varying behavioural needs.
The role combines educational support with elements of care, requiring patience, consistency and a proactive approach. Full training will be provided.

Requirements
*Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals

*Backgrounds in SEN, care, support work, healthcare or education are desirable

*A calm, patient and adaptable approach

*Willingness to support both educational and care needs

*Ability to work effectively as part of a team

*Full-time availability

*Enhanced DBS required
