Job Description:
Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Supervisor needed in Braintree Paying £16.26 per hr ref 22441
Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Supervision & Performance
*Supervise daily operations, allocating work and monitoring performance
*Hold regular team meetings and one-to-one sessions
*Coach and mentor staff, supporting development and maintaining motivation
*Manage workloads and adapt processes to meet service demand
Public Engagement & Education
*Lead waste reduction and recycling outreach activity, including schools and youth engagement
*Deliver educational campaigns, events, workshops, and community presentations
*Carry out doorstep visits to provide clear, practical support to residents
*Act as a visible ambassador for recycling and sustainability initiatives
*Work with communications teams to develop promotional materials, including flyers, social media content, and website updates
Service Support & Administration
*Oversee administrative processes to ensure a smooth-running service
*Maintain accurate procedures, records, and internal systems
*Manage waste-related correspondence and respond to customer enquiries or complaints
*Support statutory and recurring waste and recycling tasks where required
Projects & Initiatives
*Design and deliver waste minimisation projects and campaigns, such as food waste reduction, composting, plastics reduction, and new recycling initiatives
*Use approved project management tools to deliver projects on time and within budget
*Collaborate with frontline operational teams to improve recycling performance
*Support the rollout of new or changed services through clear communication and engagement
Customer Focus & Continuous Improvement
*Gather feedback from residents, schools, and local organisations
*Use data, service requests, and feedback to drive service improvements
*Ensure recycling and waste guidance is accurate, accessible, and easy to understand
*Promote the positive environmental impact of individual and community actions
