Field Service Engineer (Electrical Bias)

We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business to recruit a Field Service Engineer with a strong electrical bias. This is a varied and hands-on role combining installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and customer support, alongside involvement in machine build and development.
This position offers a great balance between site-based work and field service, with opportunities to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out installation, commissioning, and servicing of specialist machinery at customer sites
*Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
*Respond to breakdowns within 24-48 hours
*Perform planned maintenance and preventative servicing
*Deliver customer training on safe operation and basic maintenance
*Support in-house manufacturing activities, including wiring, control panel assembly, and machine build/testing
*Assist with development and troubleshooting of control systems, including some programming work where required
*Travel across the UK regularly, with occasional European travel (2-3 times per year)
Role Details*Approximately 50% site-based / 50% field-based
*Candidates must be located within 1 hour of the company’s site
*Regular UK travel with occasional international trips
Requirements*Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Field Service Engineer or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering role
*Strong electrical bias with good mechanical understanding
*Experience with control systems and wiring/control panels
*Basic programming knowledge (e.g. C++) or willingness to learn
*Full UK driving licence
