Location: Enfield
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Vehicle & Bonus
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a General Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a well-established manufacturing business within the interior design sector, specialising in premium, handcrafted decorative products. This is a key leadership role overseeing both office-based functions and on-site production operations, ensuring strong financial performance, operational efficiency, and a high-performing team culture.
Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however; all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Full ownership of P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
*Lead, manage and develop both office and production teams.
*Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, logistics, and administration.
*Drive operational improvements and efficiencies across the site.
*Ensure production output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets.
*Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to support business growth.
*Implement and monitor KPIs across all departments.
*Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and compliance.
*Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
Skills and Qualifications:
*Proven experience in a General Manager or Operations Manager position.
*Strong background within a manufacturing or production-led environment.
*Demonstrable experience managing P&L and budgets.
*Confident people leader with experience managing multi-functional teams.
*Commercially astute with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
*Experience working within SME or owner-led businesses is highly desirable.
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
