Job Title: SENCo
Location: Ipswich area (more details released upon application)
Contract: Full-time, term time only
Salary: £42,000

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join a vibrant, specialist education setting supporting students aged 5 to 18 with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities As SENCO, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering high-quality SEND provision. Your duties will include:
*Leading the strategic development of SEND policy and provision
*Designing and implementing targeted interventions to support pupil progress
*Monitoring and evaluating outcomes in line with EHCPs
*Conducting annual reviews and supporting safeguarding as a Deputy DSL
*Working closely with staff, families, and external professionals
*Coordinating day-to-day SEND operations and maintaining accurate records
*Advising colleagues on effective teaching and behaviour strategies
*Leading intervention groups and assessing their impact
*Supporting pupil transitions into and beyond the setting
*Undertaking a 50% teaching commitment (secondary experience preferred, ideally Science)
Requirements The successful candidate will have:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*National Award for SEN Coordination, or willingness to complete the NPQ for SENCOs
*Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning
*Background in working within autism and/or SEMH settings
*Experience delivering training and leading INSET sessions
*Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
*Commitment to ongoing professional development
