Early Years Teaching Assistant – 1:1 (Reception)

We are currently recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Shepherd’s Bush. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting a pre-verbal child with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis within a reception class.
The Role
*Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pre-verbal pupil with ASC
*Support communication using AAC strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton)
*Work within the EYFS framework to support learning through play
*Liaise with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
*Track progress and contribute to EHCP targets
*Support emotional regulation, engagement, and independence
The Ideal Candidate
*Experience working in Nursery or Reception settings
*Strong understanding of Early Years (EYFS)
*Experience supporting children with ASC, particularly pre-verbal pupil
*Confident using or willing to learn AAC strategies
*Calm, patient, and proactive approach
*Relevant Level 2/3 qualification (desirable, not essential)
