About the role
The Warehouse Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities during an assigned shift, ensuring efficient operations, health & safety compliance, and team productivity. This role supervises warehouse staff, manages performance, and ensures that, picking and delivery, processes meet company standards.
You will be responsible for
*Open or close the building at the beginning or end of shift
*Manage and coordinate warehouse staff during assigned shifts
*Ensure efficient picking, stacking, lines and loading of products
*Monitor daily operations to meet productivity and performance targets
*Enforce health, safe and legal regulations and company policies
*Manage shift schedules, attendance, and staff performance
*Train, coach, and develop team members
*Resolve operational issues and escalate where necessary
*Coordinate with other departments such as Telesales, Sale Accounts, and Buying Team
*Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment
*Route planning and load plans considering any vehicles off road
You will need
Key Skills & Requirements
*Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics (typically 2+ years)
*Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
*Strong leadership and people management skills
*Good understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS)
*Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
*Strong organisational and time management skills
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations
*Ability to work flexible shifts (including early/late & Saturdays if required)
