Careers Advisor - Secondary School (Newham)
Are you passionate about empowering young people to achieve their future ambitions? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Careers Advisor to join our vibrant secondary school in Newham.
About the Role
As a Careers Advisor, you will play a key role in guiding students from Years 7-13 in making informed decisions about their education, training, and career pathways. You will work closely with students, staff, parents, and external partners to deliver a high-quality careers programme aligned with national guidance.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide one-to-one and group careers guidance sessions
*Support students with college, apprenticeship, and university applications
*Organise careers events, workshops, and employer engagement activities
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labour market information and opportunities
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff to embed careers education across the curriculum
*Track and support students’ post-16 and post-18 destinations
About You
*Qualified Careers Advisor (Level 6 or working towards)
*Experience working with young people in an educational setting
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload
*Passionate about equality of opportunity and student success
