Maths Teacher (QTS) - September Start - SouthamptonAre you a Maths Teacher considering a new challenge for September? Whether you’re actively looking or simply open to having a conversation, Prospero Teaching would love to hear from you.
We work closely with a range of secondary schools across Southampton and are already planning ahead for September starts. Schools regularly approach us seeking high-quality Maths specialists, and we are confident in our ability to match strong teachers with roles that align with their experience, preferences, and career goals.
The Role:Depending on the school, responsibilities may include:
*Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 in some settings)
*Planning and delivering engaging, structured Maths lessons
*Marking, assessment, and tracking pupil progress
*Supporting pupils of mixed abilities to achieve strong outcomes
*Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and engagement
*Contributing positively to the Maths department and wider school community
Who We’re Keen to Hear From:*Qualified Maths Teachers with QTS/QTLS (essential)
*ECTs seeking the right school for their first permanent role
*Experienced teachers looking for progression, stability, or a fresh environment
*Teachers relocating to or within the Southampton area
*Maths specialists confident teaching GCSE (any exam board)
You don’t need to have resigned or be actively applying - this is about planning ahead and finding the right fit.
Contract Details:*Position: Maths Teacher (QTS)
*Location: Southampton
*Start Date: September (new academic year)
*Contract Type: Full-time, long-term or permanent
*Salary:£32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:*QTS/QTLS required
*Experience teaching secondary Maths
*Safeguarding training required (can be provided)
Eligibility:*Right to work in the UK
*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
*Two recent teaching references
