Quality Inspector - Mechanical / Precision Engineering
Aegina Technologies - Southmoor Lane, Havant, PO9
Full-Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week
Monday-Thursday: 07:30-16:00
Friday: 07:30-12:30
Salary: Circa £14 - £16 per hour (DOE)
Start: Immediate start available
Aegina Technologies is a precision engineering manufacturer based in Havant, specialising in the subcontract production of high-accuracy components and assemblies.
We supply safety- and performance-critical industries including aerospace, oil & gas, and subsea engineering, operating to stringent quality requirements within an AS9100-accredited quality management system.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality / Mechanical Inspector to join our busy production and quality team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform in-process, first-off, and final inspection of precision-engineered components
• Carry out visual and dimensional inspections using hand tools and CMM equipment
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Produce and manage quality documentation including FAIRs, NCRs, SCARs, and related reports
• Upload and submit documentation via customer portals within required deadlines
• Verify material certifications and ensure full compliance with specifications
• Record, investigate, and support resolution of non-conformances
• Support internal and external audits (including NQA audits)
• Contribute to continuous improvement and quality system development
About You
We are looking for someone who brings experience, accuracy, and confidence in a precision engineering setting.
You will ideally have:
• Previous experience in a quality inspection role within engineering/manufacturing
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Hands-on experience with inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.)
• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality standards (advantageous)
• Experience using Aberlink CMM (preferred but not essential)
• A highly methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail
