Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group are working on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business to recruit an experienced CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) to join their components team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking to join a stable company offering long-term career prospects, a supportive team environment, and ongoing training where required.
CNC Turner (Setter/Operator)
Location: Bradford
Salary: £17.00 p/h
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 4:45pm
The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting and operating a variety of CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components in line with technical drawings and production schedules.
You will be working with machines including:
*CMZ TTL66 (FANUC 31HMI)
*Star RNC16 (FANUC 0T)
*Citizen B20 (FANUC)
*Citizen A32 (MITSUBISHI)
*Mori-Seiki AL2B (FANUC 10T)
*Cincinnati Dart VMC (ACROMATIC A2100)
Experience with these specific machines is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, tooling, and fixtures
*Select and change cutting tools, setting tool and work offsets
*Set and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision components
*Work to engineering drawings, route cards, and inspection procedures
*Ensure parts are produced to required quality standards and within schedule
*Carry out in-process inspection using micrometres, callipers, and other measuring equipment
*Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required
*Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance
*Complete shop floor computer transactions
*Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping (5S)
*Support continuous improvement and adherence to ISO standards
Skills & Experience Required
*Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a manufacturing environment
*Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*Experience with Fanuc controls (desirable)
*Experience with twin turret, twin spindle, or sliding head machines (desirable)
*Experience with SolidCam software (advantageous)
*Competent in using measuring equipment such as micrometres and callipers
*High attention to detail and commitment to quality
*Strong problem-solving skills
*Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Flexible, proactive, and willing to learn
