Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.
Kitchen Assistant Contract
*£12.71 per hour
*40 hours per week
*Shift times: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM (30 minute unpaid break)
*Working 4 days per week
*Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
*5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.
You will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times. Working as part of the team, you will help prepare meals that meet individual dietary needs, including modified or specialist diets where required.
You will also support with deliveries, storage and kitchen organisation, ensuring all areas are clean, safe and well maintained. Working in a structured environment, you will contribute to the smooth day to day running of the kitchen while supporting a positive dining experience for residents.
What We Are Looking For
*Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation role is desirable but not essential
*Basic understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment
*A reliable, hardworking and positive approach
*Willingness to learn and develop within a care environment
