New Job Opportunity - Operations Quality Assurance
Location: Stevenage, UK
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Quality Assurance professional to join a highly specialised manufacturing environment in Stevenage. This Operations Quality Assurance role plays a critical part in ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are met throughout manufacturing, assembly, integration and test phases. Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Quality Assurance specialist, you will be fully empowered to manage quality activities within the production area, acting as a key authority on compliance, inspection and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for assuring product quality across spacecraft production activities, including:
*Performing and witnessing critical inspection activities and operations
*Leading the prevention of non-conformances and promoting a strong quality mindset
*Managing non-conformance processes and driving cost of non-quality reduction
*Carrying out quality surveillance within local work areas
*Collating build reconciliations and tracking open actions and work orders
*Supporting root cause analysis and internal review board meetings
*Reviewing and improving quality procedures, processes and documentation
*Requesting and conducting process audits when required
*Reviewing production work instructions and drawings to ensure technical and quality compliance
*Supporting manufacturing teams to correct errors and improve quality outcomes
Requirements
Essential:
*Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent academic qualification
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in Production, Quality or Engineering within Aerospace or Military environments
*Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and product assurance activities
*Solid hardware inspection background
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate others
*Willingness to work shifts, on-call or off-site when required
Desirable:
*Knowledge of space quality standards
*Lean or continuous improvement qualifications
*ESA qualification
*Experience using 3D drawings (Catia / 3DX)
*Knowledge of composite or carbon materials
Contract Information
*£23.92 per hour PAYE OR £32 per hour Umbrella
*6-month contract (potential extension)
*Location: Stevenage (Full-time and on-site)
*Hours: 37 hours per week
