We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Public Sector Reporting to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This role offers a salary of £87,750 - £92,000 with a hybrid working pattern.
As a key member of the public sector team, this role is responsible for supporting the chartered accounting community by leading and developing strategic insights and cutting edge thinking on the latest public sector financial and non-financial reporting issues and using these to provide our members with technical and practical updates as well supporting ICAEW to establish and maintain an authoritative and credible leadership position.
What you will be doing:
*Attending/convening meetings and events with key stakeholder bodies to discuss matters of common interest and ensuring that the interests of members of the profession and the public interest are recognised before or at an early stage in future developments.
*Leading projects which require high quality strategic thought leadership outcomes and/or guidance on important technical issues with a primary focus on public sector financial and non-financial reporting but with some regards to auditing impacts.
*Taking lead responsibility for responses to public sector consultations, consulting members on technical and practical issues and preparing representations to external parties.
*Delivering high quality technical and practical information to members for example, through writing articles for the public sector community newsletter, facilitating/contributing/presenting on webinars and face to face community events.
*Networking and building relationships with senior key players within stakeholder bodies as well as potential and existing Community members.
What you will need:
*Essential: Chartered Accountant (ACA), CIPFA or other relevant professional qualification
*Practical experience of working in the public sector, including leading central/local government financial reporting assignments
*Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards applied in the public sector
*Audit experience desirable
*Experience of presenting is desirable
