Mental Health Assistant
Location: Newbury
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Scale: £89.00 - £100.00 per day

A welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Newbury is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage positively with education and build resilience.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
*Help students manage emotions and develop coping strategies
*Support behaviour regulation using consistent approaches
*Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
*Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
*Contribute to a safe and nurturing learning environment
This Mental Health Assistant role would suit someone with experience in education, psychology, youth work, or care. A strong interest in mental health and child development is highly beneficial.
The school offers ongoing training, excellent support, and opportunities for progression within a collaborative team.
