Working within the English and Languages team, you will be the sole teacher for the AQA A-level German course, although there is also a volunteer speaking assistant who works with students 1-2-1 each week. The role typically involves teaching two German classes (one in each year group) and you would also be responsible for a weekly tutor group. The languages team has 6 staff members and offers courses in French, German and Spanish at A-level, as well as Japanese and Mandarin at lower levels. The team is known for its friendly, collaborative and supportive approach. You will have a degree or equivalent in German and must have a commitment to active and innovative teaching and learning, both inside and outside the classroom. You will also have the desire to be part of a successful teaching team and a willingness to contribute to new initiatives within the department.
