Our client is a leading UK corporate & investment bank. The team is dedicated to supporting infrastructure and project finance activities.
Description
The Opportunity
*As one of five Directors within the function, you will lead and develop a team of specialist credit professionals, ensuring the highest standards of technical assessment, decision-making, and portfolio oversight. This role carries delegated lending discretion and offers significant visibility across senior management, origination teams, product partners, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and mentor a team of Infrastructure & Project Finance credit specialists, guiding their technical and professional development.
*Shape and influence structured credit proposals, working closely with asset managers, relationship teams and deal originators.
*Oversee independent credit assessments across new transactions, refinancings, restructurings and annual reviews, ensuring rigorous analysis of financial, technical and market risks.
*Monitor portfolio exposures and proactively identify changes to risk profile, escalating where appropriate.
*Ensure all transactions comply with internal credit policy and relevant regulatory frameworks.
*Guide sector research, ensuring credit decisions incorporate robust external insights and scenario/sensitivityanalysis.
*Lead periodic sector reviews and contribute to policy development.
*Promote a culture of sound judgement, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.
Profile
What You Bring
*Significant credit risk and sanctioning experience within the infrastructure and project finance sectors, including renewables.
*Strong understanding of structured finance modelling, due diligence processes, and asset-class specifics across UK/US markets.
*Clear, confidentdecision-making ability and strong communication skills, with the credibility to challenge
*Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality output under time pressure.
*A collaborative mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and passion for supporting the energy transition and infrastructure investment.
