Senior Accounts Assistant
Enderby, Leicestershire (LE19 1SA)
£35,000 – £40,000
12-month FTC (potential to become permanent)
Office-based (with flexibility for occasional commitments; potential hybrid if made permanent)
About the Role
We are supporting a service-focused financial organisation in the appointment of a Senior Accounts Assistant to join a small and collaborative finance team.
This is a hands-on, varied role covering day-to-day finance responsibilities, alongside exposure to management accounts preparation, with full training provided in this area. The position would suit someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of finance and taking ownership of core accounting processes.
There is potential for the role to become permanent depending on business requirements and growth.
Key Responsibilities*Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
*Managing invoices and resolving queries
*Performing bank reconciliations
*Supporting month-end close activities including journals, accruals, and prepayments
*Assisting with preparation of management accounts (training provided)
*Supporting VAT returns and reporting packs
*Assisting with payroll processes (including pensions/partner payments – training provided)
*Supporting audit preparation and wider finance projects
*General finance support within a small team environment
About You*Experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant, Finance Officer or Assistant Accountant
*Strong background in transactional finance (AP, AR, reconciliations)
*Some exposure to month-end processes or management accounts
*Confident working in a varied, SME-style environment
*Strong Excel skills
*Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working hands-on across finance duties
Desirable Experience*Sage 50 experience
*Payroll exposure
*Background within service-led or professional services environments
