Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Import Clerk who has experience in air and road freight to join our clients specialist team in the Hounslow area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong import knowledge to take full ownership of shipments from start to finish within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage airfreight / road freight shipments import shipments from arrival through to final delivery
*Complete and submit customs entries in line with HMRC regulations
*Ensure all documentation is accurate and processed in a timely manner
*Arrange collections and deliveries, ensuring deadlines and service levels are met
*Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any delays or issues
*Deal with high profile / high value shipmenst and customers
*Calculate and manage costing, invoicing, and chargeable services
*Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and high levels of customer service
*Ensure compliance with all customs procedures and company policies
*Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth operational flow
Requirements:
*Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in imports (end-to-end)
*Strong working knowledge of UK customs import procedures and regulations
*Experience handling customs entries from start to finish
*Familiarity with CDS / Sequoia systems is highly desirable
*Stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Able to manage multiple shipments and prioritise workload effectively
