Job Description:
Position: Purchasing Lead
Location: Daventry
Salary: - £34,000
Purchasing Lead required for an automotive small/medium component manufacturer based in Daventry. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing purchasing (preferably automotive or aerospace) and strong negotiation and commercial skills.
Purchasing Lead Overview
*Lead supplier negotiations on price, terms, and long-term agreements
*Benchmark market pricing for raw materials (stainless, inconel, aluminium, fabrication consumables etc.)
*Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP requirements
*Issuing and monitoring supplier schedules
*Ensure timely supply of materials to meet production schedules
*Control purchasing spend in line with budget
*Negotiate improved payment terms where appropriate
*Work with Finance to support cash flow planning

Purchasing Lead Requirements
*Experience in manufacturing purchasing (preferably automotive or aerospace)
*Strong negotiation and commercial skills
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment
*Data-driven and systems literate (MRP/ERP experience essential)
Purchasing Lead Salary & Benefits
*Salary: £34,000
*Working hours - Monday - Friday 8-4
*25 days holiday + bank hols
*Auto enrolment pension
*Death in Service - up to 3 x annual salary
