Job Title: SEND Teacher (Complex Needs)
Location: Central Manchester
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Central Manchester. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working with children and young people who have complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication or behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with complex SEND
*Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
*Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
*Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
*Use a range of communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton) to support learning
*Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
*Experience working with children with complex SEND needs
*Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
Desirable:
*Experience in a specialist or SEN school setting
*Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and sensory needs
*Training in behaviour management or communication tools (e.g., Team Teach, Makaton)
