Asset Risk & Performance Analyst
Reading (Hybrid)
Hours - Monday to Friday 36 hrs
Salary - circa £47k plus good benefits
We are recruiting for an experienced Asset Risk & Performance Analyst to join a specialist Asset Health, Risk & Performance function within a major UK utilities environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of critical water infrastructure through data-driven asset management, risk modelling, and performance analysis.
This role focuses on analysing complex asset data, developing risk models, and supporting strategic decision-making across water, wastewater, and bioresources systems. You will help identify current and future asset risks and contribute to the development of long-term investment and maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities*Analyse and interpret data from multiple sources to support the development of asset risk models, maintenance programmes, and system strategies
*Assess asset performance and underlying risk across asset groups and infrastructure systems
*Develop and maintain robust, auditable risk models to support investment planning and resilience strategies
*Model likelihood and consequence of asset failure across different scenarios to inform decision-making
*Support the development of asset management plans, monitoring systems, and performance reporting frameworks
*Produce clear, stakeholder-ready reports including asset condition updates, risk summaries, GIS outputs, and performance insights
*Support strategic planning inputs for regulatory submissions and long-term investment planning frameworks
*Work collaboratively with internal teams including engineering, operations, regulation, health & safety, and delivery partners
*Liaise with external stakeholders including infrastructure partners and local authorities where required
*Apply best practice asset management principles aligned with ISO 55000 standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
*Background in asset management, engineering, infrastructure, or a related technical discipline
*Strong experience working with complex data sets and delivering analytical insight
*Understanding of asset risk, performance management, or infrastructure lifecycle planning
*Experience using tools such as ArcGIS and ESRI platforms
*Knowledge of statistical analysis and/or modelling tools such as R or Python (desirable)
*Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to stakeholders
*Ability to work across multiple teams and build effective internal and external relationships
*A proactive, structured approach with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
*Understanding of regulated environments and/or utilities (desirable)
