Job Description:
The company
This is a business where engineering excellence genuinely matters. Operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the organisation is committed to continuous improvement, operational efficiency and the highest standards of health, safety and quality. Investment in people, plant and infrastructure is central to its strategy, with a strong focus on modern engineering practices, lean manufacturing and delivering sustainable performance. Collaboration sits at the heart of how teams work, with engineering playing a critical role in shaping the future of the operation.
The role
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering, land and buildings function, ensuring the site’s plant, equipment and facilities operate safely, reliably and at peak efficiency. Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of maintenance strategy, asset replacement planning and the successful delivery of capital projects that support a dynamic and evolving manufacturing operation.
You will drive performance through robust KPIs, OEE improvement and root cause analysis, working closely with operations to optimise uptime, changeovers and autonomous maintenance. Alongside this, you will manage engineering systems, audits, service contracts and statutory compliance, while developing a high-performing, engaged engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence, combining strategic thinking with day-to-day operational impact.
The candidate
We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with a strong operational background and a proven track record of delivering results in a manufacturing environment. You are comfortable managing medium to large, multi-disciplinary teams and have experience of project delivery, CAPEX control and KPI achievement.
You bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to prioritise effectively, make sound decisions under pressure and adapt quickly to change. Confident and credible at all levels, you communicate clearly from shop floor to senior stakeholders and naturally build strong cross-functional relationships.
A degree or engineering apprenticeship is essential, with formal project management qualifications and experience in larger corporate environments viewed as an advantage. Above all, you are driven to improve, develop others and play a key role in shaping engineering excellence. Experienced in Food manufacturing is preferred.
