Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Levenshulme, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available
A well-regarded primary school in Levenshulme is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This opportunity is being advertised by a specialist education recruitment agency on behalf of the school.
This is a rewarding role supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and speech & language difficulties. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a supportive classroom environment.
The Role:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
*Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
*Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
*Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and strategies
*Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
*Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based or similar setting)
*A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
*Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
