Senior Backend Engineer
£70,000 - £90,000
Shirebrook, Mansfield (3x a week)
This is an opportunity to join a large-scale digital engineering environment where backend systems power multiple high-traffic websites and mobile applications.

THE ROLE
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs within a cloud-native microservices environment to support high-traffic digital platforms.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:
*Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services within a microservices architecture.
*Develop high-quality APIs using GraphQL and REST to support web and mobile applications.
*Work closely with product, frontend, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
*Contribute to code quality, performance, and reliability through best engineering practices.
*Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps ways of working.
*Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and well-documented solutions.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Senior Backend Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
*Strong commercial experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
*Proven ability to build and maintain microservices-based systems.
*Experience designing and consuming GraphQL and REST APIs.
*Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
*Good knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including testing and automation.
*A collaborative mindset and passion for building scalable, maintainable system
