SME Finance Manager
Location: Skipton
Salary: 45000 - £50000
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are working with a growing SME seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to lead a small, collaborative finance team. This is a broad and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of finance and adding real value to the business.
This opportunity is well suited to a qualified-by-experience (QBE) candidate; a formal accounting qualification is not essential.
The RoleReporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting and effective financial controls across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing the general ledger and overseeing all core accounting processes
*Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
*Supervising and supporting a small finance team
*Overseeing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes
*Leading month-end and year-end close activities
*Managing cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
*Supporting audit processes and liaising with external accountants
*Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and controls
*Providing financial insight to support business decision-making
About You*Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Finance role within an SME environment
*Strong working knowledge of end-to-end finance processes, including general ledger management
*Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational role
*Experience managing or mentoring a small team
*Strong Excel and financial systems experience
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders across the business
