Caretaker - Secondary School

About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Wakefield for a Caretaker to join their site team as soon as possible. This is a long-term sickness cover position, offering a supportive working environment.
The school is looking for someone reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
*Opening and locking up the school site
*Basic premises duties
*Setting up rooms for lessons and events
*Litter picking and general upkeep of outdoor areas
*Ensuring the school site remains clean, tidy, and safe
*Supporting the site team with day-to-day tasks
Please note: this role does not require extensive DIY or maintenance skills.
The Ideal Candidate
*Previous experience in a caretaking or premises role (school experience desirable but not essential)
*Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
*Comfortable working on a shift pattern
*Strong awareness of health & safety
*Able to start immediately
*Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be happy to apply for one.
