An international professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Employee Relations professional to join its UK-based HR team. The Role
This role sits within a well-established HR Business Partnering team as a dedicated Employee Relations specialist, working as part of a broader HR function including Learning & Development, Reward, Resourcing, HR Operations and DE&I. The Senior ER Advisor will support primarily Business Services teams, providing expert advice on a wide range of employee relations matters and working closely with HR Business Partners, managers and key stakeholders.
The role offers significant exposure to complex and sensitive casework, opportunities to influence best practice, and involvement in ER improvement initiatives. It is well suited to a confident ER professional who enjoys balancing commercial realities, governance, and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage a varied ER caseload including disciplinary, grievance, performance, sickness/absence, flexible working, probation and capability matters
*Provide timely, pragmatic advice that balances legal risk, business need and employee experience
*Support and lead sensitive and high-risk cases, including those involving misconduct, discrimination or regulatory considerations
*Conduct thorough ER investigations, including evidence gathering, interviews and outcome reporting
*Ensure all documentation is accurate, consistent, and audit-ready within a regulated environment
*Coach and guide managers to build confidence and capability in handling people issues effectively
*Contribute to ER-related training, including investigations, performance management and dignity at work
*Support consistent application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures
*Contribute to ER insights, trend analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
*Graduate calibre with part or full CIPD qualification preferred
*Proven experience managing a broad range of ER cases in a complex, regulated or professional services environment
*Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice
*Confident advisor with the ability to handle sensitive and complex matters with sound judgment
*Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail and documentation standards
*Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
*Collaborative and improvement-focused, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
