Job Description:
The Business
This is an opportunity to join a well-established, independent property and lettings business with a strong local presence and a reputation for professionalism, compliance, and long-term relationships on a Part time Basis.
The business manages a diverse residential property portfolio and prides itself on delivering a personable yet well-structured service to landlords and tenants alike. With a stable client base and experienced leadership team, the environment is professional but approachable — ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and having real ownership of their work.
The Role
The Part-Time Accounts & Systems Assistant role is designed for someone who wants to properly learn the portfolio from the ground up and become a trusted part of the day-to-day finance operation.
You’ll be involved across the full rental cycle — from rent postings through to landlord payments and arrears management — working closely with the Head of Finance and supporting the wider office as needed.
This is a hands-on role with scope to grow as your understanding of the portfolio, systems, and lettings environment develops.
Key Responsibilities
*Posting and reconciling rent payments across the managed portfolio
*Processing landlord payments accurately and in line with agreed schedules
*Monitoring and actively chasing rent arrears, including liaising directly with landlords and internal teams
*Building a strong understanding of the portfolio and associated financial workflows
*Supporting the day-to-day finance and accounts activities within the business
*Assisting with finance-related aspects of lettings compliance and administration
*Maintaining accurate and well-organised records across the accounts and property systems
*Working closely with, and reporting directly to, the Head of Finance
About You
*Previous experience in accounts, finance, or a finance-admin role
*Exposure to, or understanding of, the property or lettings sector would be highly beneficial
*Some awareness of lettings-related compliance is an advantage
*Confident and comfortable picking up the phone to speak with landlords or stakeholders
*A self-starter who can work independently and use initiative
*Keen to learn, develop, and grow within a role rather than just tick boxes
*Systems-savvy and happy working across multiple processes
Why This Role?
*Flexible part-time hours (20- 25 hours a week)
*A chance to join a stable, well-run independent business
*Genuine exposure to the full end-to-end finance process in lettings
*Scope to develop responsibilities over time as your knowledge grows
*Direct access to, and mentorship from, the Head of Finance
