Location: Mitcham - Croydon
Contract Type: Full-time / Maternity Cover
Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
Start Date: After May Half Term
About the Role
We are exploring the possibility of appointing an experienced SENCO as Maternity Cover to support SEND provision within our setting. While a final decision has not yet been made to proceed with a booking, we are keen to review suitable profiles and gather relevant information at this stage.
The successful candidate would work closely with the existing SENCO, who will be available to provide guidance and ongoing support. This role would suit a confident professional who can operate independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the setting
*Support pupils with a wide range of additional needs
*Oversee and contribute to EHCP processes and reviews
*Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
*Liaise with staff, parents/carers and external professionals
*Monitor, review and evaluate SEND interventions
*Provide advice and guidance to staff on inclusive practice
Essential Requirements
*Proven experience working as a SENCO
*In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
*Strong organisational and communication skills
*Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with an established SENCO
*Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
Additional Information
*This is a full-time role, with flexibility considered depending on experience
*Support will be available from an established SENCO
*Appointment is subject to confirmation and operational need
