Contract Type: Ongoing temporary assignment
Working Pattern: Full-time (site-based) Working between 28 to 37.5 hours per week
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS (essential)
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting an experienced Medical Secretary to support an NHS business on an ongoing temporary basis. This is a fully on-site role, ideal for a candidate with strong NHS experience who can hit the ground running and provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the team.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide comprehensive secretarial support to consultants, clinicians and wider medical teams
*Audio and copy typing of clinical correspondence, including clinic letters, discharge summaries and reports
*Manage patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with NHS policies
*Handle telephone and email enquiries
*Coordinate clinic appointments, meetings and diaries
*Liaise with internal departments
*Support with the smooth day-to-day running of the department, prioritising workload effectively in a busy environment
Essential Requirements
*Previous experience working as a Medical Secretary within the NHS
*Strong audio typing skills with a high level of accuracy
*Working knowledge of NHS systems and medical terminology
*Excellent organisational and communication skills
*Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
