Job Description:

Location- London
Work Days - 4 days in the office – Fridays working from home
I’m working with a boutique, independent marketing agency looking for a Digital Design Lead to take ownership of all things design across a growing and varied client portfolio.
This is not a "sit back and manage" role, it’s for someone who enjoys being hands-on, shaping creative direction, and being close to both the work and the client.
About you:
You’ll own the design function end-to-end, from concept through to delivery, working across web, digital campaigns, and brand-led projects.
*Lead and deliver high-quality digital design across multiple client accounts
*Take full ownership of the agency’s design output and standards
*Work closely with account managers, developers, and marketing teams
*Be confident in client-facing situations, presenting ideas, challenging where needed, and building trust
*Balance multiple projects in a fast-paced agency environment
*Bring ideas to the table, not just execute briefs
The ideal candidate:
*Proven experience within a marketing / creative agency environment (this is key)
*Strong portfolio across web, digital, and campaign design
*Advanced proficiency in Figma
*Solid understanding of WordPress (themes, layouts, working with dev teams)
*Exposure to or interest in AI tools within design workflows
*Experience working across multiple brands / sectors
*Comfortable leading projects and taking ownership without needing hand-holding
Responsibilities:
*Lead and deliver high-quality digital design across web, campaigns, and content
*Take full ownership of the design output and creative standards across the agency
*Translate client briefs into clear, well-executed creative solutions
*Present concepts and ideas confidently in client meetings and reviews
*Work closely with developers to ensure design feasibility and smooth delivery
*Collaborate with account management to align on client goals, timelines, and expectations
*Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and consistency throughout
*Refine and improve internal design processes, workflows, and efficiencies
*Stay up to date with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies (including AI)
*Support and guide more junior designers (if applicable), setting the creative standard
*Take ownership of UX/UI thinking, ensuring designs are not just visually strong but effective
The kind of person who thrives here:
*Has a genuine eye for design, understands detail, layout, typography, and brand consistency
*Equally comfortable being hands-on and leading from the front
*Enjoys working directly with clients and being part of conversations, not hidden behind the scenes
*Naturally takes ownership, sees things through properly
*Brings energy, ideas, and a bit of personality to the role
Benefits:
*Salary expectation is £40K to £50K depending on knowledge and experience.
*An extra one day of holiday for each year of service
*3% matched pension
*Discretionary bonus
*Pet-friendly office
