SEN Tutor - Croydon | Qualified Tutor | Immediate Start
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to support young learners in the Croydon area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and emotional development of students with Special Educational Needs.
Location: Croydon
Start date: Immediate
Hours: Flexible - part-time or full-time opportunities available
Pay: £25-£35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored 1:1 tuition to students who may be out of school, on reduced timetables, or require additional support due to a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex needs. Sessions may take place in the student’s home or a suitable community setting.
Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects

*Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each learner

*Build positive, trusting relationships with students and their families

*Support student’s emotional development, confidence and readiness to learn

*Monitor and report on student progress

Requirements:
*A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent)

*Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN

*Ability to work independently and manage own schedule

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:
*Experience supporting students excluded from mainstream education

*Training in behaviour management strategies (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA)

*Strong understanding of EHCPs and SEN-related support frameworks
