Accounts Senior Manager
The Firm
This long-established boutique firm has supported its clients for many years and offers an excellent working environment. Timesheets are not used, overtime is minimal and actively discouraged, and the firm prioritises work-life balance. The client base consists of well-established businesses, and the firm is highly profitable. The office is modern, spacious, and equipped with exceptional facilities.
The firm works with SME clients up to the audit threshold and does not undertake audit work. Their focus is on the preparation of accounts and providing high-quality advisory services.
The Role
Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking a Senior Accounts Manager to act as a key link between the team and senior management. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of SME clients (typically under £10m turnover) while supervising staff responsible for preparing accounts, management accounts, and tax returns.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed clients
*Schedule work and allocate staff to ensure deadlines are met
*Take responsibility for the quality of work produced
*Review accounts, management accounts, and tax returns prepared by the team
*Respond to queries from both clients and staff
*Mentor and train junior team members
*Maintain a strong understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations
*Supervise and support the development of staff
The firm uses Xero, CCH, and Excel; experience with these systems would be advantageous.
The Successful Applicant
*ACA / ACCA qualified or QBE (qualified by experience)
*Experience managing SME / owner-managed business portfolios
*Comfortable reviewing work and supervising junior team members
*Confident communicator, both internally and with clients
*Able to commute easily to North London
