Job Description:
Job Title: SEMH Tutor Maths & English (St Helens)
Location: St Helens
Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate)
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | 20 hours per week (ASAP start)
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Tutor to work with students in St Helens, delivering one-to-one tuition in Maths and English. This role is perfect for individuals who have experience supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are passionate about helping students overcome learning barriers to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised GCSE Maths and English lessons for students with SEMH needs.
Tailor lesson delivery and content to suit the varied learning styles and emotional requirements of each student.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
Assist students in enhancing their subject knowledge, study skills, and exam preparation.
Track student progress and offer constructive feedback to parents, carers, and professionals where required.
Essential Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
Experience working with students with SEMH in one-to-one or small group settings.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable Qualifications:
PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience with students who have Autism, ADHD, or other SEMH needs.
