Job Description:
Our client is an international business looking for a determined and resilient Finance Analyst to join their business based in Birmingham. The role is fully office based and will be paying between £30-40k (DOE). Hindi language skills are a strong bonus.
What you’ll do:
*Prepare daily profitability reports (P&L) on dispatches to ensure accurate financial tracking and support decision-making processes.
*Monitor expenses meticulously and identify discrepancies or errors by understanding the intricacies of the business model and operational flows.
*Manage credit control functions and oversee bills payable control to maintain healthy cash flow and financial stability within the organisation.
*Utilise advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, data organisation techniques, and preferably macros for automating financial reports.
*Handle cash-flow management challenges related to UK banking limitations by developing practical solutions that support ongoing business expansion.
*Collaborate closely with colleagues in both the UK and India offices to share knowledge, resolve issues promptly, and foster a supportive team environment.
*Use Tally accounting software for day-to-day financial operations; familiarity with this platform is highly desirable given its popularity in India.
*Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review while ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
*Support logistics functions when required by providing financial insights that help optimise supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
*Participate in occasional travel to India (once or twice annually) to manage team interactions and facilitate smooth cross-border communication.
What you bring:
*Demonstrated proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, organising large datasets effectively; experience with macros is preferred for automating reports.
*Experience working within an SME environment where hands-on involvement across multiple areas of finance is essential for success.
*Ability to manage daily profitability reporting (P&L), monitor expenses accurately, identify errors quickly through thorough analysis of business processes.
*Familiarity with Tally accounting software or willingness to learn this platform rapidly due to its central role in day-to-day operations.
*Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with colleagues across different countries and cultures; sensitivity towards diverse working styles is important.
*Proven track record of handling credit control functions and bills payable management while maintaining robust cash-flow practices under challenging circumstances.
*Willingness to occasionally work late hours during peak periods or when urgent issues arise; flexibility is key given the nature of international trade operations.
*Excellent organisational skills allowing you to juggle multiple priorities efficiently without compromising accuracy or timeliness.
*Ability to communicate fluently in Hindi is highly desirable due to frequent interaction with teams based in India; knowledge of other South Asian languages would be beneficial but not mandatory.
*Openness to occasional travel abroad (India) for team management purposes; adaptability when working across time zones is valued.
