Job Description:
Mechanical Assembler Technician
Egham
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
This is a hands-on position responsible for preparing precision-engineered components and assembling them into system elements used in advanced hydraulic systems. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with high-value components to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities*Prepare and assemble components using hand, power, and precision tools
*Interpret technical drawings and follow work instructions
*Ensure all parts meet required quality standards; identify and report defects
*Handle components safely in line with health & safety regulations
*Maintain tools, equipment, and 5S workplace standards
*Work collaboratively with colleagues and support team activities
*Contribute to continuous improvement, including work instructions and risk assessments
*Follow all company procedures and safety requirements
Skills & ExperienceEssential:
*Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
*Strong mechanical assembly skills (hydraulics knowledge desirable)
*Experience with hand, power, and precision tools
*High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
*Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity
Experience:
*Minimum 2 years’ experience in precision engineering or similar environment
*Experience assembling high-value, low-volume components
Qualifications:
*Apprenticeship or equivalent practical background (preferred)
Key Competencies*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
*Reliable, punctual, and quality-focused
*Professional communication with colleagues and customers
*Computer literacy for basic communication and documentation
