Job Description:
We are looking for an outstanding individual: a leader who is passionate about education, is committed to the idea of the College as a community of staff and students and to maintaining it as a place of excellence in which to work and to learn, and is able to represent the College effectively to a range of external partners and stakeholders.
If you are excited by this opportunity and believe that you have vision, courage, skills, judgement, and energy to lead Barton Peveril Sixth Form College on the next stage of its journey, we want to hear from you.
The College is thriving. It has over 5,000 sixth form students and is over-subscribed. Our most recent Ofsted inspection judged the College to be Outstanding across the 4 key judgments (as was); the Department for Education rates the College’s academic performance as "Above Average" and the best in the region for every qualification we offer. Our finances have been graded as Outstanding since 2019 and all forecasts project that this will continue to be the case for at least the next 3 years.
Our mission is to foster a strong community committed to the highest standards of effort, achievement, and ambition, preparing students to thrive as positive citizens in a complex society.
You will be joining a college that achieves excellent student outcomes and is focused on continually exploring and reviewing the most effective teaching and learning strategies. We enjoy a long established reputation for looking after our students and taking an interest in young people as we prepare them for a successful future through a broad education.
We are committed to investing in the continuous professional development and training of our staff, and to their wellbeing. We know that, to a very large extent, it is because of the remarkable talent and dedication of our staff, that Barton Peveril is now one of the largest and most successful sixth form colleges in the country.
