Job Description:
An established organisation based in Ipswich is seeking a Finance and Payroll Officer to join its finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is fully office-based and will play a key part in managing payroll and day-to-day finance operations, supporting accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, purchase ledger management, and supporting broader financial reporting activities, working closely with internal departments including HR and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
*Process end-to-end monthly payroll accurately and on time
*Manage the purchase ledger, including supplier invoices and payments
*Carry out credit control activities and follow up on aged debt
*Prepare weekly financial reports, including:
*Cashflow reports
*Payroll summaries
*Accounts receivable and accounts payable reports
*Support the preparation of management accounts
*Assist with audits, compliance, and regulatory requirements
*Liaise closely with HR and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance
Person Specification
*AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent practical experience
*Proven experience in payroll processing and purchase ledger management
*Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
*Good understanding of UK payroll processes and financial controls
*Ability to work accurately, manage deadlines, and handle confidential information
Desirable Experience
*Background within healthcare or social care
*Knowledge of HMRC regulations and payroll compliance
Salary & Benefits
*Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
*Permanent, full-time position
