Job Description:
An exciting 6-month contract opportunity has arisen with one of the UK’s most prominent charitable organisations. This is a pivotal moment to join their Grants team as they implement a brand-new Salesforce-based Grant Management System overseeing a portfolio of £400m+ in grant funding that directly supports communities across England. If you thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and have a passion for the third sector, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
Sitting within a busy and high-impact Grants team, the Grant Operations Officer will play a central role in supporting all aspects of grant operations management during a key phase of digital transformation. You’ll be hands-on with the new Grant Management System (GMS), supporting data integrity, process development, stakeholder guidance and board governance.
You’ll work closely with finance, programme leads, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, providing a vital operational backbone during a period of significant change.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the implementation and smooth running of a Salesforce-based Grant Management System, including data checking, process testing, and producing guidance for internal and external users
*Help manage the flow of business through the GMS — setting up grant claims, processing change requests, and supporting other grant-making teams with system adoption
*Assist in managing a large and complex portfolio of funded programmes, including assessing budgets and preparing award letters and funding agreements
*Administer payment and application processes for time-limited formula funding, working alongside the Deputy Director of Finance
*Support preparation of governance papers and board reports, including summarising funding proposals and assessing budgets
*Develop internal reports using GMS data and tools for a range of stakeholders
*Provide operational support for existing curacy and capacity funding grants
Essential Experience
*Operational support within a complex organisation
*Accurate data handling with strong governance awareness
*Supporting financial processes, including payments or budget analysis
*Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
*Excellent attention to detail, especially with financial documentation
*Clear written communication skills, drafting summaries and guidance
*Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders
Desirable Experience
*Experience using a Salesforce-based grant management platform
*Background in a grant-making or governance environment
*Experience supporting board or committee processes
*Interest in the charitable or non-profit sector
What’s on Offer
*Competitive salary of £42,000 per annum (pro-rated for 6 months)
*Hybrid working model, a great blend of office and remote
*Fantastic benefits package
*The chance to work on a high-profile digital transformation project within a well-established, values-driven organisation
*Immediate start available for the right candidate
