Berry Recruitment are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our client’s team working within Wythenshawe.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:15am - 3pm, 36.25 hours per week
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Contract Length: Initially temporary for 12 weeks with the potential to then go permanent for the right candidate!
Role Purpose
To deliver a range of grounds maintenance tasks ensuring outdoor spaces remain safe, clean, and visually maintained.
Key Responsibilities
*Grass cutting, strimming, edging, hedge trimming.
*Litter collection, leaf clearance, and general site tidiness.
*Shrub and flowerbed maintenance.
*Weed control using manual or chemical methods (depending on qualification).
*Assist with use of grounds machinery and tools.
*Follow daily schedules and meet performance targets.
*Support seasonal activities such as winter gritting and planting.
*Adhere to safety guidelines and use PPE appropriately.
Essential Skills & Experience
*Experience in grounds or outdoor labour roles.
*Able to use common grounds equipment (strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters).
*Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
*Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
*Full UK drivers license
Desirable
*LANTRA or NVQ horticulture qualifications.
*PA1/PA6 certification.
*Experience with ride-on mowers.
