An established and growing logistics organisation is seeking an experienced Import Operator to join its Manchester-based operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented import professional looking to work in a fast-paced, commercial environment with strong long-term prospects.
Key Responsibilities
*Liaising with customers and overseas agents to manage import shipments end to end
*Handling general import enquiries, including arrival notices and split requests
*Quoting for, arranging, and managing customs clearance and onward delivery
*Resolving invoice and billing queries
*Creating and maintaining container load plans within CargoWise
*Producing and managing Outturn Reports
*Managing Full Container Load (FCL) shipments
*Arranging cargo releases with ports, shipping lines, and hauliers
*Raising invoices and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
Skills & Experience Required
*Proven experience in an Import Operator (or similar) role within freight forwarding or logistics
*Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
*Confident and professional communicator with strong organisational skills
*Ability to adapt to new systems, processes, and working practices
*Experience using CargoWise One (CW1) is highly desirable
