The Opportunity
We’re delighted to be partnering with a values-driven organisation to recruit a Management Accounts Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, supporting decision-making, and contributing to a service that genuinely makes a difference to people’s lives.
Reporting into a Finance Business Partner, the Management Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting effective financial management across the organisation. The focus is on providing high-quality financial analysis, accurate reporting, and practical support to budget holders and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
*Supporting financial business partnering across assigned service areas
*Assisting with short and medium-term financial planning and analysis
*Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and commentary
*Supporting budget monitoring, variance analysis and forecasting
*Helping to maintain strong financial controls and accounting arrangements
*Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and working papers
*Contributing to regulatory returns and value-for-money reporting
*Supporting the effective use and development of finance systems
About you
You’ll be detail-focused, organised, and confident working with financial data in a fast-paced environment. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team and communicating financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
We’re ideally looking for someone with:
*GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
*Working towards, or holding, AAT Level 3 (or equivalent)
*Experience of working to deadlines in a finance or accounting environment
*Experience supporting budgeting or financial analysis
*Strong Excel skills and general IT confidence
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*Clear written and verbal communication skills
