Job Description:
Paraplanner | Ref: 10333 Salary: Up to £50,000 | Permanent | Full-time | Finchley
We’re looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join a well-established financial planning practice. Working closely with one or more Financial Advisers, you’ll play a central role in delivering high-quality, compliant advice to a diverse client base. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in their technical work and thrives in a collaborative environment.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing the advice process end-to-end, including fund switches, withdrawals and client reviews, using the firm’s back-office system. A key part of the role involves writing client suitability reports across a range of areas, protection, pensions and retirement planning, investments, equity release and cash-flow forecasting, using the company’s preferred report writing software.
You’ll conduct research into financial products to identify the most suitable solutions for each client’s circumstances, taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Alongside this, you’ll support Advisers in preparing for client meetings, assist with regular reviews, and help build cash-flow models to give clients a clear picture of their financial position and future scenarios. You’ll also be responsible for managing client data and carrying out online transactions through provider platforms.
Keeping up to date with relevant regulation and legislation, and applying this to advice cases, will be an important part of your day-to-day work.
What We’re Looking For
We’re ideally looking for a candidate who is qualified to Diploma level, though we would warmly consider those who are close to completing their qualification. You’ll need a solid understanding of the financial advice process and the compliance requirements that come with it, along with demonstrable experience writing suitability reports, ideally across multiple advice areas.
You’ll be comfortable working across a range of provider platforms and financial planning tools, and will bring strong attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach to your work. Just as important is your ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with Advisers and colleagues.
Software & Tools
The firm uses a range of industry-standard software including X-Plan, Genovo, Dynamic Planner, Voyant, SelectaPension, FE-Analytics, Defaqto Engage, Underwrite Me, Structured Edge, Micap/Tax Efficient Review and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with some or all of these would be an advantage.
