Job Description:
School Caretaker Location: Pontefract
Pay rate: Around £12.71 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Temporary until August
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hands-on Caretaker to join a busy school in Pontefract. This is a key role in ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
About the role:*Working Hours: 37 hours per week
*Monday - Friday: Between hours of 6 AM and 5 PM.
*Around £12.71 Per hour
*Weekly pay
Key Responsibilities:*Opening and closing the school site
*General maintenance and basic repairs
*Health & safety checks across the premises
*Setting up rooms for events and school activities
*Monitoring the security of the site and responding to emergencies
*Liaising with contractors where required
*Ensuring outdoor areas and buildings are kept safe and presentable
The Ideal Candidate Will:*Have previous caretaking, maintenance, or site management experience (school experience desirable)
*Be practical, proactive, and reliable
*Understand health & safety requirements in a school environment
*Be flexible and happy to work split shifts
*Must have an Enhanced DBS check
