Job Description:
Responsive Repairs Officer
*Pay Rate: £14.82 per hour PAYE
*Location: Wakefield Council, Wakefield One, Wakefield, WF1 2EB
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2 - 3 months)
Wakefield Council are looking for a Responsive Repairs Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for facilitating 3rd party FM contractors to undertake repairs across the council portfolio, ensuring adherence to contractual time, budget, and quality requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Collaborate closely with the Property Service Administrators to ensure timely raising of purchase orders for chargeable repairs.
*Utilise the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to support the continuous improvement in the quality of reporting and effective contract management.
*Support the delivery of the Repairs and Maintenance Plan which underpins the Council’s Estate Strategy.
*Review and monitor responsive repairs planned or undertaken by the 3rd party FM provider, optimising their performance and escalating issues where necessary.
*Maintain strong links with the property helpdesk to facilitate effective, accurate, and timely reporting of FM issues by stakeholders across the council.
*Prepare application for payment information for review and authorisation.
*Actively use the CAFM system to record, track, and report on responsive repairs.
*Provide support for the continuous improvement of the repairs and maintenance service through effective contract liaison and embracing advances in sector practices and technology.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in facilities management or a similar role involving the coordination of third-party contractors.
*Strong organisational and communication skills.
*Proficiency in using Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems and other related IT systems.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Experience in contract management and adherence to budget and time constraints.
