Assistant AccountantLocation: Central London
Salary: £40,000-£45,000
Contract: 3-month contract (potential temp to perm)
We are recruiting an immediately available Assistant Accountant for a retail business based in Central London. This role plays an integral part in the day-to-day running of the finance function, working closely with the Operations team to support the wider retail brand.
This is a hands-on, office-based role (5 days per week) and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities*Managing Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment runs and supplier reconciliations
*Supporting Accounts Receivable, including invoicing and reconciliations
*Maintaining accurate ledger postings with a strong understanding of debits and credits
*Assisting with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
*Partnering with operational teams to resolve finance-related queries
*Using Xero to ensure accurate and timely financial records
Required Experience & Skills*Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
*Strong Accounts Payable experience, with exposure to Accounts Receivable preferred
*Solid understanding of core accounting principles
*Prior experience within the retail or consumer sector
*Confident user of Xero
*Immediately available (or available at very short notice)
*Able to work 5 days per week in the office
