Client Accountant
Location: Birmingham (Flexible Working Available)
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
I’m currently working with a modern and growing accountancy firm in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a Client Accountant to support their expanding SME client base.
This role would suit someone with at least two years’ experience in practice, who enjoys managing client relationships end-to-end and is confident working across accounts, tax, and day-to-day client support.
The Role
You will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact while delivering high-quality accounting and compliance services. The firm offers a friendly, supportive environment with genuine progression opportunities for someone keen to develop their career in practice.
Key Responsibilities
*End-to-end client relationship management
*Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
*Preparation of monthly / quarterly management accounts
*General tax compliance including:
*VAT returns
*Payroll processing
*Personal tax returns

*Supporting general office and administrative tasks as required
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you should have:
*AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified
*Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
*Strong working knowledge of Xero and Dext
*Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail
*Confident communication skills and a client-focused approach
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
*A proactive, organised, and positive attitude to work
