Job Description:
Bookkeeper
Location: Bury
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start/finish between 8:00am – 5:00pm
Are you a detail-oriented Bookkeeper seeking a fresh challenge? Do you thrive in a client-facing role where no two days are the same?
Due to ongoing business growth, my client is looking to appoint a capable and proactive Bookkeeper to join their established team in Bury. This position will see you taking ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring all financial records are maintained with accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
*Overseeing purchase and sales ledgers, including the preparation and posting of invoices using Sage and Xero
*Managing sales and purchase order processing
*Completing bank reconciliations on a regular basis
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
*Working to strict deadlines and maintaining compliance standards
*Handling multi-currency transactions, multiple bank accounts, and CIS processes (advantageous)
*Assisting with accounts preparation to trial balance stage (desirable)
*Maintaining organised financial records and supporting general office/accounting tasks
About You:
*AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)
*At least 3 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping role
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Comfortable managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
*Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
*Experienced in using Sage and/or Xero
